In Honor of Winter

winter food still life
This season, I’ve been dying for a plethora of props, some serious color saturation, sexy winter fruit, and moody light. I’ve also been longing for snow, but some things are easier to conjure than others! This week I got a good dose of the former and had fun just playing and making pictures for a day. Thank you to Molly FitzSimons and Chris Lanier for this pretty little test shoot. As always, please check out these and more in the portfolios at

I’m blown away by these photos. The clors are divine. The props are perfect! and the whole feel is truly beautiful.. The words that come to mind are bohemian, decadent, and lush. Like a deep and rich poem in a photo.

[...] Molly talked about her favorite kind of day: “Tara made a few sketches and showed me some inspiration tears and i was immediately into it – going for that feeling of a secluded cabin in the city.  Making these pictures is the closest I’ve come to having a lazy day like that in a long time, and it was almost as fun and just as relaxing simply because of the mood we were trying to achieve.” See more images on Tara’s blog: Count Every Beautiful Thing.
